Ant control across San Diego County
Argentine ants are San Diego's number-one nuisance pest, they form supercolonies that can stretch for miles, and the trails you see in your kitchen are just the tip of an underground network. Spraying the visible ants is exactly the wrong move; it triggers budding, where the colony splits into multiple smaller colonies and the problem multiplies. We use non-repellent products and slow-acting baits that the workers carry back to the queens. The visible ants disappear within a week and stay gone.

What do homeowners ask about Ants?
Why does spraying make Argentine ants worse?
Argentine ants respond to repellent insecticides by 'budding', splitting the colony into multiple new colonies as a survival response. The visible problem multiplies. That's why we use non-repellent products that don't trigger this behavior and let the workers transfer the active ingredient back to the queens.
How can I tell if I have carpenter ants or Argentine ants?
Carpenter ants are large (1/4 to 1/2 inch), often black or red-and-black, and you'll find sawdust-like 'frass' near their nests. Argentine ants are tiny (1/8 inch) and uniformly brown; they don't damage wood, just trail in massive numbers. Treatment for each is completely different.
Do home remedies like vinegar or cinnamon work?
They temporarily disrupt the chemical trail the ants follow, so the visible activity may pause for a few days. They don't kill the colony. The ants will re-establish the trail or find a new path. For a real solution, the queen has to be eliminated.
Are the ant baits safe around food and pets?
Ant baits are placed in cracks, behind appliances, and along baseboards, out of reach of pets and away from food prep surfaces. The active ingredients are at very low concentrations because the strategy is delivery to the colony, not contact-kill. We always walk you through where products are placed.

Argentine ant trail came back stronger every time we sprayed. Pest Pros explained why, repellent sprays trigger budding, and used a non-repellent perimeter treatment instead. Trail was visibly thinner in three days, gone in a week. Quarterly service since and we don't see ants anymore.
Buying a 1968 home and the lender required a WDO inspection in 5 days. Pest Pros came out the next morning, did a thorough crawlspace inspection, found localized drywood activity in one eave, and had the report in escrow by end of week. Section 1 cleared after local treatment, saved the closing.
Heard scratching in the attic for a month. Pest Pros found three roof-rat entry points around the eaves, all sealed with steel mesh and caulk, and set traps in the attic. Activity stopped within a week. They came back free at 14 days to confirm no new activity. No upsell.
