Cockroach control across San Diego County

San Diego sees three main cockroach species, and they're not interchangeable. German roaches are the small fast indoor breed that explodes through kitchens, they hide in warm electronics and behind appliances and reproduce faster than almost any other pest. American roaches are the big reddish-brown ones that come up from sewers and palm trees. Oriental roaches prefer dark damp spots like crawl spaces. We identify the species first because the bait, placement, and follow-up are different for each.

What do homeowners ask about Cockroaches?

Why don't the spray cans work on roaches?

Aerosol sprays kill the roaches you see but cause others to scatter to new harborage areas. They also miss the eggs entirely. Modern professional cockroach control uses gel baits and IGRs that the roaches eat and carry back to the harborage, where they affect the whole population including the next generation.

How did I get German roaches when my house is clean?

German roaches almost always arrive via brought-in items: used appliances, cardboard boxes from grocery deliveries, secondhand furniture, or suitcases from hotel stays. They don't care about cleanliness once they're in, they thrive on tiny amounts of grease, crumbs, and water. Cleanliness helps treatment work faster but isn't the cause.

Will I have to throw out food and dishes?

No. Gel baits are placed in cracks and crevices, away from food prep areas. We may ask you to wash items stored in cabinets after treatment as a precaution, but we don't apply products to surfaces where you prepare food.

How long does it take to fully eliminate a German roach infestation?

Two to four weeks for moderate infestations, sometimes longer for severe ones. The German roach lifecycle is about 60 days egg-to-egg, so we typically schedule follow-ups at 14 and 28 days to catch newly hatched roaches before they can breed.

Do you offer an exterminator service for roaches, not just spraying?

Yes. A real roach pest control service goes past spraying, it starts with species identification, then gel bait and IGR placement in cracks, crevices, and behind appliances, plus a sanitation walkthrough and follow-up visits timed to the roach lifecycle. Our exterminator service for roaches covers German, American, and Oriental species across San Diego County, with pricing quoted before we start.
