Spiders

Spider control across San Diego County

Most spiders in San Diego are harmless, but two are not: the black widow (native, found in garages, woodpiles, and outdoor furniture) and the brown widow (an invasive that's now more common than black widows in many neighborhoods). Both can deliver medically significant bites. Our spider control treats the eaves, garage, and exterior, where webs form, and includes targeted indoor work in problem rooms. We don't bother spraying every visible spider in the house; that's not how the population is controlled.

What do homeowners ask about Spiders?

How do I tell a black widow from a brown widow?

Black widows are jet black with a bright red hourglass on the underside. Brown widows are tan or brown with a yellow-orange hourglass and zebra-striped legs. Brown widow webs often have distinctive spiky egg sacs. Both are venomous; brown widows are slightly less so but more abundant in San Diego.

Do you spray every spider you see?

No, spider control is about treating the harborage areas (eaves, mulch beds, garage corners) where they live and breed, plus the perimeter where they cross. Direct spraying of individual spiders is mostly cosmetic. Reducing prey insects also helps long-term.

Will the treatment harm beneficial spiders or pollinators?

Our products are applied to non-flowering surfaces (eaves, foundation, garage corners) and are not broadcast in pollinator areas. Beneficial spiders in your garden aren't directly targeted. We use products with low residual impact on non-target species.

How quickly will the webs go away?

Existing webs need to be physically removed (we do that during the visit). New web construction slows within 7–14 days as the population is reduced. With a quarterly program, exterior eaves stay essentially web-free year-round.

Argentine ant trail came back stronger every time we sprayed. Pest Pros explained why, repellent sprays trigger budding, and used a non-repellent perimeter treatment instead. Trail was visibly thinner in three days, gone in a week. Quarterly service since and we don't see ants anymore.

Ant Control Encinitas

Buying a 1968 home and the lender required a WDO inspection in 5 days. Pest Pros came out the next morning, did a thorough crawlspace inspection, found localized drywood activity in one eave, and had the report in escrow by end of week. Section 1 cleared after local treatment, saved the closing.

Termite Inspection Chula Vista

Heard scratching in the attic for a month. Pest Pros found three roof-rat entry points around the eaves, all sealed with steel mesh and caulk, and set traps in the attic. Activity stopped within a week. They came back free at 14 days to confirm no new activity. No upsell.
